The Story

Sew Blossom is a small family-owned business located in Spokane, WA. My dream of opening up a website started when local stores just didn’t have the selection that I yearned for…and I had to order from multiple websites in order to gather together everything I needed for a project!

Creating has always been an important part of my life…my mom sewed much of my clothing growing up, and my grandma made everything from mittens to homemade quilts for us. At the age of 5 my mom taught me how to sew and I also began knitting and crocheting. By my teen years I had also learned how to quilt, smock, embroider, silk ribbon embroider and heirloom / couture sewing techniques. I am so grateful to my mom and grandma for being so encouraging to me, even when my “projects” were not quite perfect. I remember when my proudly finished potholders were rather “mis-shapen” (my mom still has them and uses them), or the time I made my mom a cotton top and she wore it to church on Sunday (even though it was far from perfect). Those little things were SO important at the time and I’m so blessed that they always praised my accomplishments and encouraged me to continue creating no matter what.

Taking materials and creating something handmade out of it, is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves and for our children. Learning a new skill, self-esteem, and creating items that will be passed down and cherished for generations are just a few of the reasons why I am on this wonderful adventure. I am excited to be part of your journey and to have you be part of mine! Please do email me if I can help you in any way, and check out our blog where we will be posting helpful tips and free goodies to help you on your creative path!
